Database Service Installation via PgSmart Web

PostgreSYS, through PgSmart, provides a simple, fast, and customizable way to install PostgreSQL and the PostGIS extension for georeferencing.

In a single guided operation, you can install PostgreSQL binaries and initialize a database instance/cluster, including creating the corresponding system service — all from one place with the necessary installation packages.

Prerequisites

  • PgSmart Web Installation, following the minimum requirements.

  • Additional package repository to resolve indirect dependencies. According to each organization's security and support policies, Tecnisys does not provide these packages. However, for Enterprise Linux distributions, the Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux - EPEL repository generally provides the required indirect dependencies.

  • PgSmart Agent must be installed and running on the machine where the database service will be installed.

  • Agent Registration in PgSmart Web.

  1. Go to Início/Gerenciar Ambientes/Serviços. All installed services from all environments will be displayed.
  2. Click Instalar.
  3. Select the Environment where the service will be installed.
  4. Select the Database service.
  5. Select the Base Version of PostgreSQL [e.g., 16].
  6. Select the PostgreSQL Version [e.g., 16-2].
  7. Click Avançar.
  8. Select a Database Extension to install, if desired.
  9. Indicate whether to initialize the database instance.
  10. Select the IP address of one or more PgSmart Agents.
  11. Click Instalar.
