Backup Routines Configuration

In this option, PgSmart creates routines in the Operating System's (Linux) Crontab, where the operations' Scheduler is Configured.

For example, one can configure a type of backup for each period of time.

Command Syntax

pgsmart backup config [Flags]

Flags:​

  • -h, --help. => Help
Non-Interactive Configuration

Non-interactive execution is disabled for this operation.

Interactive Configuration

  1. Select the PgSmart agent (or Register a new Agent).

  2. Select the Backup Routines section (selection is made with the [space] key).

When selecting the "Backup Routines" section, the following operations are made available:

  • List Backup Routines.
  • Add a Backup Routine.
  • Edit a Backup Routine.
  • Remove a Backup Routine.

List Backup Routines​

  1. Select the List operation.

  2. Configured Backup routines will be displayed.

Add a Backup Routine​

  1. Select the Add operation.

  2. Select the Backup Environment.

  3. Confirm if you want to add a routine for 'Full Backups'.

    3.1. Enter the Execution Frequency of the FULL backup (using the crontab style.

  4. Confirm if you want to add a routine for "Differential Backups" (changes made since the last complete backup).

    4.1. Enter the Execution Frequency of the differential backup. (using the Crontab style).

  5. Confirm if you want to add a routine for incremental backups (changes made since the last backup, be it full , differential, or incremental).

    5.1. Enter the Execution Frequency of the incremental backup (using the Crontab style).

Edit a Backup Routine​

  1. Select the Edit operation.

  2. Select the Backup Routine to be edited.

  3. Enter the new Execution Frequency for the backup.

  4. Confirm the routine edit.

Remove a Backup Routine​

  1. Select the Remove operation.

  2. Select the Backup Routine to be deleted.

  3. Confirm the deletion of the Backup Routine.
